OPUS-QUAD and OMNIS-DUO Firmware Updates Introduce StreamingDirectPlay Support for Beatport Streaming and TIDAL

Firmware updates for the OPUS-QUAD (ver. 1.22) and OMNIS-DUO (ver. 1.11) have been released.

These updates enable both units to play music from Beatport Streaming and TIDAL through the StreamingDirectPlay feature, providing direct access to the latest tracks and playlists. When loading tracks from either music streaming service on the OPUS-QUAD or OMNIS-DUO, BPM and grid analysis are automatically performed. This facilitates an understanding of the music’s progression via the waveform display and allows the use of features such as Quantize and Beat Sync for accurate beat matching and mixing.

The integration of rekordbox CloudDirectPlay with Beatport Streaming and TIDAL enhances DJ workflows. If tracks from both music streaming services are analyzed in rekordbox in advance, their BPM, key, and waveform information are instantly retrieved from the cloud, allowing performances to start quickly after loading the track. Additionally, any Hot Cues or Memory Cues edited on the OPUS-QUAD or OMNIS-DUO are automatically uploaded to the cloud. This ensures access to the latest library from anywhere in the world via rekordbox or when using DJ equipment compatible with rekordbox CloudDirectPlay.

The OPUS-QUAD and OMNIS-DUO can also mix tracks directly from Beatport Streaming and TIDAL with playlists previously uploaded to the cloud via rekordbox, providing maximum flexibility in track selection without the need to connect a PC/Mac to the DJ setup.

  • A subscription to the rekordbox Creative or Professional plan, or Cloud Option, is required to use rekordbox CloudDirectPlay.

  • Music streaming services may not be available in some countries or regions. More details can be found here.
